The Serbian Geological Society (Srpsko geološko društvo - SGD) is a voluntary scientific organization of the Serbian geologists.
Serbian Geological Society was founded in 1891 with an objective: "to perform geological investigations of Serbian and other lands of the Balkan Peninsula, as well to inform its members and other interested parties about the achievement in the field of geology and affiliated sciences."

EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT: XVII Serbian Geological Congress
Dear members and colleagues,
We would like to inform you that next year will be the “congress year” for our Society, and 17th Serbian Geological Congress (with international participation) will be held in the Vrnjačka Banja (the most celebrated and most popular spa town of Serbia) from 17-20 May 2018. within the Hotel “Breza”.
Letter of Thanks issued to the SGS in the name of 25 years of Geological Survey of the Republic of Srpska
At the ceremony of the 25th anniversary of the Geological Survey of the Republic of Srpska, which was held on the 16. June 2017. in the Banja Luka, Serbian Geological Society has received letter of thanks for the great contribution and the affirmation of the Geological Survey and geological research on the territory of the Republic of Srpska.
Bulgarian Geological Society excursion across Eastern Serbia
During the last weekend (12-14.05.2017.) excursion across Eastern Serbia was organized by the Bulgarian Geological Society within international cooperation between Serbian and Bulgarian geological societies. Guests from Bulgaria had an opportunity to see geological and cultural-historic sights of Rajac, Donji Milanovac, Boljetin, Golubac, Majdanpek and Đerdap Gorge.

The Solemn Ceremony and Scientific Conference Commemorating 125 years of the founding of SGS
A celebratory event was held in the conference hall of the University of Belgrade on 21 October 2016 on the occasion of 125 years of the founding of our Society. The event was attended by numerous guests: representatives of the Serbian scientific community, the Ministry of Mining and Energy, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, geologists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungaria, as well as our members and friends.
